“Raising the Standard” Highland Dance event

The Dancers will be performing on the stage of the main gallery, under the watchful eye of Prince Charles Edward Stuart himself! Rena Gertz will add to the occasion with her beautiful and award-winning Gaelic singing, and after the performances the Prince will ceremonially “raise the standard”, unveiling our new community banner created by visitors to the museum during its first year. After the conclusion of the main events, the Prince will remain at the museum to meet visitors – a chance to come face to face with history! To celebrate the occasion of the dancers’ visit, we will also be displaying a selection of Canadian embroideries from the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry (11am-4pm).
