The Trustees would like to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our friends, volunteers, visitors and followers.
This has been an important year for the Trust, seeing our first open season at Prestonpans Town Hall. Since we opened the doors on 30 April 2022, we have welcomed over 2,242 visitors to our new museum. We have given workshops and tours to over 380 school pupils, and held events as varied as “An Evening with Maggie Craig” and a recreation of the building’s original 1897 opening ceremony. Our temporary exhibitions have covered the history of the Co-operative, royal themed panels in the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry, and the Vikings in Iceland!
It has been a real joy to see our vision for the hall coming to life, and to hear the feedback from our visitors, and we are grateful to everyone who has been to see us. We are especially grateful to all those who have left donations or purchased books and souvenirs, as it is purely down to these that we can keep the doors open into 2023.
Thanks also to our wonderful volunteers, who give up their weekends to welcome people into the hall.
Have a very Merry Christmas, and we’ll see you again soon!
