Remembering those who fought and fell
On 21st September, we marked the anniversary of the battle with a short wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial Tables on the waggonway. The event was live-streamed on Facebook, where it can still be viewed:
The ceremony was led by trustee Dr Arran Johnston, the lament was played by David Strachan of Prestonpans Royal British Legion Pipe Band, and the wreaths were laid by Sharon Beck.
Those who fell in 1745 were also honoured with acts of remembrance at both days of the re-enactment weekend, ensuring the soldiers of both armies continue to be remembered.
