Explore The Prestonpans Tapestry

The 104m Prestonpans Tapestry was a community arts project which broight over 200 volunteer stitchers together from across Scotland (and a few from beyond!) to embroider the story of the Prestonpans campaign in 1745. It was completed in 2010, and has since been enjoyed by countless thousands at exhibitions far and wide.

Today, the Prestonpans Tapestry’s home is the Battle of Prestonpans Museum. There, at least 10 panels of the tapestry are on public display every weekend – with the panels rotating in narrative order every few months. We continue to work towards a permanent home for the Tapestry.

If you are interested in hosting an exhibition, please contact us.

The Tapestry panels can be enjoyed using the free mobile app, or by using the slideshow below:

An animated and narrated version of the Tapestry can also be enjoyed, available in three parts below. Each part lasts approximately 10 minutes, and the next part should play after the credits.

A full version can be purchased on DVD, with proceeds supporting the Trust’s activities.
